ICT

Pupils enjoy Information & Communications Technology lessons and practical workshops covering the skills required for GCSE and A-level. We have two computer rooms, one each for the Lower and Upper School. Each room consists of 20 networked PCs with scanners, smart board technology and printers. There are suites of Apple computers for Photography and Graphics, a separate suite for Media Studies and the Music department has a specialist network of computers for use as recording studios and composition.

ICT is compulsory up to Year 11. Pupils are taught practical skills with essential software required by the national curriculum. At Year 10, we offer two-year academic (GCSE) or vocational (ECDL) programs. Pupils study a GCSE short course and are taught using the courseware needed to obtain the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

At the end of Year 10, the pupils who demonstrate outstanding ability may enter a full course ICT program. We also offer tuition at AS and A2 levels for pupils who have attained grade B or equivalent at GCSE.
